A hearty welcome to SanDee&amelie's challenge blog!

Please, note, that this challenge blog is not related to any business and run without any profit by people, who do this for your and their own leisure time fun! Our only reward are your encouraging comments and your playing along and sharing steampunk fun and mixed media techniques. We appreciate every single entry and comment so much! Thank you for taking the time!

If you are new to this place, please, know that we are so glad that you stopped by our little steampunk corner!
Whether you are a dedicated tag or card maker, art journaler or mixed media lover - this might be the right place for you!
For more information about the rules and the little "steampunk/industrial twist" we ask of you, please check the "about" stuff and then simply jump in and create!

If you are new to steampunk and not sure if this is "your thing", maybe take a look at our winners gallery on pinterest (use the linking button on our side bar). You will find that we're mainly a mixed media challenge blog with a little twist towards steampunk, industrial and/or vintage. So why not give it a try?

We are looking forward to seeing your fab projects entered to one of our challenges soon!

Hugs,
SanDee&amelie&the SASPC team

In the Laboratory - our August Challenge

Servus, dear Steampunk friends!

Claudia here to bring to you the new challenge for August! This time I am writing this challenge post at my beloved holiday place in the wonderful Austrian Salzkammergut and hope you are all having a wonderful summertime too!

If you haven't already seen our Steampunk Summer Special, I recommend you click  HERE! But this post is all about our new challenge for August and the theme is

In the Laboratory!

As long as you enter a Steampunk project and follow our general challenge rules, it is totally up to you how you interpret the theme!

We have once more a wonderful guest designer with us this month: this time it's lovely Sue O'Connell from  Something out of Nothing who created a project that matches this month's challenge theme to add to Team A's fab bundle of inspiration!

I am honoured to be asked to partake in this month’s challenge at SanDee and Amelie’s Steampunk Challenge as a guest. I am with some very talented people. I haven't constructed a box type dimensional piece in a while and so I started off with a 10.5cm x 28cm deep box (without the lid) which I purchased from a car boot sale for 50pence.

I make bespoke scrap canvas, scrapbooks and cards, and love to demonstrate products for companies and teach workshops on crafting all over the North West of England and cannot think of a nicer way to spend my spare time. My philosophy is ‘There’s no such word as can’t’ and I love altering stuff I find on car boot sales, in charity shops and making anything out of nothing

I have used a selection of stamps, embossing powder, craft metal acetate, embelishments and watercolour paints for my project. Get the full instructions from my blog www.nwscrapbooking.blogspot.com.

Have fun crafting,

Sue

And this is what Sue created for our "Laboratory" theme:

Sooo much to see and discover! For a larger view simply click on the images and check out all the brilliant depth and detail! Thank you so much, Sue, for sharing your incredible art with us! xx

Of course Team A have risen up to the challenge too and produced a lot of "Laboratoire-Goodness" for you - check it out:

This 'laboratory cabinet' was created from a piece of an old book. I cut out sections from the inside to create the 'shelves' and added texture and colour to the front of the 'cabinet' with modeling paste, Inka Gold paints and alcohol inks. It's full of dangerous liquids, as you can see! ;)

Brigitte's laboratory

a wood box with shelves...
some vials, some light bulbs, some stuff
et voilà

In this laboratory will be given the green light to leave all the ordinary behind...

Promised too much? I don't think so! Whatever it is you come up with - a card, a tag, a journal page, some altered art, encorporated vials or formulas, mad scientists or lab geek or experiments... we have again separate 2D and 3D collections for your makes - so please, pay attention to link your entry to the correct collection! And have fun of course! ;)

To find out if you have made our Top3 or won the prize check back next  Saturday!

Hugs and happy crafting,
Claudia and the SASPC-Team
